How to repair 3rd generation iPod Touch with water damage?

My iPod got water damage on Tuesday. I had it in my pocket in the pouring rain at my boyfriend's lacrosse game, and when I got home it was just a black screen no matter what I did. I have had it in rice for the past week, with no luck. I've tried to plug it in to see if it works then, but no. Nothing but a black screen. Is there anything else left to do? At this point I don't really care if the solution could harm the iPod in the long run, because it doesn't look like it's going to work anyways. My old iPod Nano got water damage, and wouldn't turn on for a day. Then, it miraculously turned on the next day. So, most of my hope of this working is gone. Plus, I'm about to start saving up for a new iPhone.. even though that will take forever. /: So, any suggestions other than rice?
